This approach is used when staff members are competent, self-motivated, and happy to agree on vision and outcome – with a view to working without any support.

Delegating leadership is the highest of the 4 situational leadership styles. It not only allows a leader to delegate and free up their time, it also places responsibility on the team member who takes on the task. And delegating doesn’t have to involve global project management. It might involve asking an office junior to organize the yearly networking conference.
